Philippe Matic-Arnauld des Lions was born in Paris and has Balkan roots. Out of love for the city, his mother moved to Regensburg with young Philippe. From then on he commuted between the "city of love" and the "northernmost city of Italy". This mixture is what defines him to this day. His heart beats for France as well as for the Upper Palatinate and especially for Europe.
Art accompanied Philippe from an early age. Starting as chorister at the Regensburger Domspatzen, he is now known as a musician and composer from the band ECLIPSE SOL-AIR and several movie scores.
He began his career as an actor in 2004 with the Regensburger Stadtmaus, took lessions in improvisational theatre and pantomime from Hubertus Hinse and Wolfgang Krebs.
Now he can be seen internationally in cinema films and on television, most recently on ARTE and ZDF.
Philippe has been directing at Bayerischer Rundfunk in Munich since 2019 and for BR Klassik in Nuremberg since 2022.
But his art is always driven by the landscapes of the Upper Palatinate and the Danube Valley, which give him strength and inspiration.
